The main objective of this workshop is to introduce the Ashtanga method to anyone who might be interested in learning something new, are curious about it, have heard of it and want to know more, or those who already practice and would like to go deeper into the method.
Topics that will be covered are:
History of Ashtanga (where does it come from/who created it?)
What is the Ashtanga Yoga method/what does it mean (philosophical concepts)?
The pillars of Ashtanga Yoga Practice
Exploring the Primary Series (pose review and physical practice)
How is Ashtanga practiced?
How to start an Ashtanga practice
This workshop will consist of conversation, meditation, breath work, asana practice, and a break for chai and some fruit (not necessarily in this order!).
Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats and writing materials for note taking.
