Chantel Taite

Chantel was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and first began her yoga journey at Berkeley's Yoga to the People studio in 2013. Initially practicing yoga to explore new forms of physical fitness, Chantel immediately began feeling the nourishing effects that yoga had on her body and mind. As a student of Minerva Arias, founder of Roots Healing in Oakland, Chantel began to learn about the spiritual philosophies of yoga, and during a pivotal time of self-inquiry, Chantel found meditation, pranayama, and the asanas to be soothing to her physical and mental ailments. Deciding to deepen her personal practice and to eventually begin sharing yoga with others in her community, Chantel pursued and graduated from the 200-hour teacher training at Purusha Yoga in San Francisco. Becoming certified in summer 2022, she is now guiding others in bringing peace and balance to the body, mind, and spirit via pranayama, gentle forms of yoga, and Hatha yoga.

Chantel received her B.A. from UC Berkeley, and is now currently pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling Somatic Psychology at CIIS.

Chantel's teaching style is gentle, fluid, and explorative as she offers guided invitations to practice extending curiosity and tenderness to our tender wounds.
