Bethany Miguel
Bethany began practicing yoga in college as a way to tend to her physical health. Health issues had begun to limit how she could engage in exercise activities and she was looking for other ways to build strength and flexibility. As her practice deepened, she found yoga to be an invaluable tool for her mental health and overall well being. The union of breath and movement in a yoga practice, with the balance of stillness, offered her a meditative space that she could return to every day, showing up as she was and moving in a way that felt best in her body.
Bethany wanted to share the mental and physical benefits of mindful movement and breathwork with others and saw an opportunity for this with her school community (she's an elementary school teacher). She became a 200 hour RYT through Breathe For Change in 2019 and has been leading yoga classes for school staff and students since then. With both adults and youth, she aspires to support yogis in building connection, knowledge of self, and strength, along with a sense of playfulness to help balance the mental and physical challenges of every day life.
Bethany sees herself as a guide and invites those practicing with her to make the practice their own and listen to their body and breath. She hopes you leave her class feeling connected and ready to take the tools of yoga off the mat and into the rest of your day.
